Hardware refers to the electronic devices inside of a computer. This is everything from your Motherboard to the Power Supply that brings the right amount of electricity to it for it all to work. A Graphics card is Hardware, RAM Memory is Hardware.

   These are the most important parts of your computer, and if you want to go inside of your machine and drastically improve the amount of memory you have available to you, depending on what you use your computer for, it is very easy to do. I actually have a desktop computer that I have built that has some incredible features because of what I installed in it. I have over a Terabyte of memory in that computer, hoping that is more memory than I will ever need! How would you like to have a computer that will do everything you wanted it to and was as fast as you wished it would be?    I am not trying to put Dell out of business, they make decent computers. You can read reviews that also tell you wether or not these are good machines right on the same webpage at Amazon that you find these items on! That is something that I always encourage when it comes to researching items on the internet: read the reviews. Or, even better yet, read MY reviews! If you don't see a review for the item from the vendor you are ready to buy from, then take a moment and do a search on one of the leading search engines and you will find a site or a forum somewhere that is going to have the specifics on just about any electronic or technology item there is! There is work being done at ASUS with a prototype Laptop that has a 1Terabyte Hard Drive! That is HUGE! Nobody else has a Terabyte Hard Drive yet! Dell has 750 GB and so does HP, but the Terabyte is the motherload of memory! Your hardware will deteriorate before you run out of space!

My girlfriend had a computer that was pretty nice, but it was much slower than alot of computers I had been learning on, including my laptop, which was fairly old but had two gigabytes of RAM memory. So I opened the side of that computer and took out the only RAM memory card that was there, and since there were two empty slots, I thought for sure I could improve the speed of this computer. I compared that card to the cards in the book and found out what I was supposed to order, and tried to put it back. I put it in upside down. You're not supposed to be able to do that, but I wan't quite a qualified "Nerd" yet, I put it in upside down!

   Know what happens when you do that and then turn the computer on? It goes "Pfftt!" and there is a little smoke and Viola! You have officially destroyed the Motherboard!

   I immediately went on Compusa.com and ordered a replacement Motherboard! The one I ordered was an ASUS brand, but they didn't have that one in stock when it was time to send my order. Know what they did? They "Up-Graded" my order to a Motherboard that was $100.00 more expensive but gave it to me for the same price as I would have paid for the one I ordered!

   Now how many companies are out there that would do that? I got an XFX 750a Gaming Motherboard for almost half-price! I also got a 64 Bit Dual Core Processor with it and then learned how to over-clock it to a ridiculous speed! 3.9 GHz for those of you who might have wondered? This is what I am runing in my desktop computer that I mentioned earlier! See the computer on the right? This is my Super-Fast, Super-Huge (22' Monitor, from CompUSA) desktop computer that I built.

   Something it just occurred to me to add to this is that there are a multitude of consumer reviews all over CompUSA for just about everthing they sell! Some of the review threads are actually like a question and answer forum as well, because you will see someone saying they had a problem with something and being confused as to the value of the item, and then someone else will write below them about what they were doing wrong and have advice on how to take steps to repair or correct the errors in installing or programming something? It gets pretty intense, because most of the writers know really well what they are talking about, but there are some people who just didn't have a clue, and you can tell right off who they are!

   Now do you see why I urge you to go to their site and look around for your computer needs? Because you cannot find anything on their site cheaper anywhere else. And if they don't have it, they will give you something better! You just can't beat service like that, you just can't.

There are alot of places out there that are not the best places to go to buy your computer components. E-bay is one of them. I would like to hope that there are some people who sell quality things on E-bay, but for the most part, no.
